Social Media – (Trivial) Obstruction or (Terrific) Opportunity?

Open panel event on Maximising Social Media with local leading experts and practitioners, including Darren Bristow, Founder of our hosts Quba Digital who are doing amazing things in the world of marketing and social media.

Are you baffled by blogs?  Does Twitter leave you in a tizz?  Maybe flummoxed by Facebook?  Are you not even linked up, never mind Linkedin?  Adding social media to your marketing strategy isn't just an option anymore, for most businesses it’s now become a necessity that we understand what it is and if it’s going to impact on your business.  It’s also a potential opportunity too!  But what steps have entrepreneurs taken to maximise the power of social media and how have many of them been able to generate new business opportunities through social media marketing?

We know that our members’ experiences of Social Media vary from the ‘absolute beginner’ to the ‘proficient professional’! Equally, many have told us that they understand the significance of social media – its potential and its problems, but aren’t sure how to maximise those opportunities and minimise those threats!   Our panel of entrepreneurs, who each use social media in different ways, will share their experiences around this “hot” topic as we debate exactly what is social media and what impact it can have on your business – good and bad!.   They will explode the myths and share their successes and learning (around this topic generally) and demonstrate how your business could benefit from it too!

Is it a threat or opportunity?  Can you harness it to help provide better customer service, improved customer engagement and retention? Can you use it to raise your profile, create more customers and opportunities? Which tools are best for your business?  How can you maximise these tools and techniques to compliment, even ‘add to’ all your other current sales and marketing activities?

We will take the viewpoint of the experts who use it in business versus the users themselves, to draw on real examples of how it has worked for them, the core basics and how they have applied these and made it work for their business.

This will NOT be a technical or IT dominant session – it’s about making real business development improvements and the panel will be under strict instructions to minimise (even avoid) jargon! So if you have little or no Social Media knowledge or experience, if you’ve ‘dabbled’ a little, or if you’re already making it work well for you, this is a great opportunity to hear how to do it, or do it better!

It will be introduced and facilitated by Jill White, who will ensure that there is no ‘Geeek Speeek’, and that everyone will be able to contribute, share and learn!

This practical and pragmatic panel event is guaranteed to stimulate discussions and answer queries from anyone interested in or affected by social media (by definition that means everyone in business today!).  We urge you to book as soon as possible to secure a place.

Attendance for E3 members is included in your membership package and costs £15 + VAT for members' guests and ‘first timers’ to an E3 event.  Non-members are charged at £25.00 + VAT per person.  Please note that cancellations for guests, received within 24 hours of the event will be charged in full

A light supper will be served following the main panel discussion, allowing further time to chat with our panel members and event guests.

E3 exists solely to help entrepreneurs help other entrepreneurs...making contacts, building relationships, supporting each other, stimulating ideas, winning business together and celebrating success.

This a simple idea – creating a cross sector peer group – a like minded community who can exchange ideas, knowledge and inspiration in a confidential environment.

It's not just about selling – not just about making contacts – but more about building long term relationships and developing trust and support through tapping into the wisdom of others, and not just any others -  those who have been there and done it themselves!

It's all about learning from successes (and mistakes) tapping into real life business experiences and knowledge.
